Strike-slip dislocations of the Sverdlovsk ring megastructure’s concentric fault zone in the Aktanysh-Chishmy trough area (Volga-Ural oil and gas province)
Abstract. The paper aims to summarize and analyze the published and stock geological and geophysical data on the Aktanysh-Chishmy trough area of the Kama-Kinel trough system, as well as to explore the deep structure of the Sverdlovsk ring megastructure’s concentric fault. The regional seismic survey area is divided into three large blocks horizontally shifted in a relative northwestern direction. The blocks descend in a step-like northeastern direction parallel to the megastructure’s concentric fault. The axial zone of the Aktanysh-Chishmy trough on time cross-sections represents a negative shift-line structure. The area locates tectonic disturbances mainly in northeastern and northwestern directions coinciding with the megastructure’s ring and radial dislocation strike. Rivers and their tributaries flow in the same directions, there are extended chains of oil deposits and hydrocarbon deposit contours in the region. The Sverdlovsk ring megastructure’s concentric fault to study is concluded to be a zone of northwestern left-sided strike-slips of over 30 km in width.
