THE BEGINNING OF THE PATHOn the 70th anniversary of the creation of the domestic uranium geological survey

The given article deals with the main events of the early stage of the study of radioactivity in Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union before the start of the Atomic Project. The sources of uranium and radium are shown. The role of the Academy of Sciences and the Geological Committee is emphasized at the beginning in the creation of radium industry and mineral resources base of the radioactive materials in our country.
